QSSI Launches My Personal Health Record, South Carolina (MyPHRSC) - A CMS Personal Health Record (PHR) Pilot for Fee-For-Service Beneficiaries

Columbia, MD – April 21 , 2008 – QSSI is pleased to announce the launch of a Personal Health Record (PHR) pilot project for Medicare beneficiaries in South Carolina. Called My Personal Health Record, South Carolina (MyPHRSC), the project gives people with Medicare access to an electronic Personal Health Record containing the last 2 years of their Medicare claims data. In addition, this PHR provides a number of valuable features to help eligible beneficiaries better manage and understand their health information.

Available via the internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, MyPHRSC provides registered users with tools that are useful in providing a comprehensive approach to planning for one’s health. Users can view their Medicare medical history in a variety of formats, customize their PHR with their own medical information, and can easily provide access to other trusted members of their healthcare team. In addition, the PHR provides a number of useful tools, including a health calendar, access to health information, and the ability to create their own “plan for health".

As the prime contractor, QSSI has been working in partnership with HealthTrio, LLC to ensure that their industry-leading Personal Health Tool has been appropriately configured for a senior population. Another key partner, Palmetto GBA, provides the claims data and necessary expertise to extract data and populate the PHR tool. QSSI is creating exposure and awareness of MyPHRSC to South Carolina beneficiaries through a comprehensive outreach program that includes advertising, workshops and participation in local events.

"QSSI is excited about partnering with CMS on this important Pilot project. We recognize the importance that electronic Personal Health Records can play in helping seniors manage their care. This pilot will provide important data on the value of PHRs in improving senior health, and help CMS determine the most effective outreach methods to encourage seniors to register for and use a PHR" said Mark Labus, QSSI’s Senior Vice President.

"This project demonstrates QSSI’s continued focus on delivering high value IT solutions to our Government customers. We are extremely proud of the MyPHRSC program", said Bikram Bakshi, CEO of QSSI.

QSSI specializes in Health IT solutions, and is currently the prime contractor on several other CMS projects.
