Columbia, MD – September 19 , 2007 – The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has awarded QSSI a $3M contract to support the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). MEP’s mission is to support, strengthen, and grow U.S. manufacturing. To accomplish its mission, MEP provides companies with services and access to public and private resources that enhance growth, improve productivity, and expand capacity through its nationwide network of MEP centers operating from the NIST Columbia, Maryland Campus, MEP assists its nationwide network of smaller, U.S manufactures become globally competitive.

MEP supports 59 centers in 443 locations in every state and in Puerto Rico, employing about 1,500 staff members. These centers provide manufacturers with an array of services that focus on growth, productivity, and efficiency. MEP centers are independent, non-profit organizations that offer products and services to meet specific, regional and local manufacturer needs.
