QSSI Awarded Two CMS Contracts in FY2006
Columbia, MD – November 17 , 2006 – QSSI, a SEI CMMI Level 2 rated disadvantaged business, is pleased to announce two recent prime contracts awards at CMS: HIGLAS Transition Support and HIGLAS Training Support.
HIGLAS Transition Support
QSSI is providing the CMS transition Business Integrated Services to the future Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) Medicare fee-for-service contractors who are actively engaged in transitioning to the new system. QSSI, together with our partner, Palmetto, provides a dedicated transition team that includes members knowledgeable in the HIGLAS 11i COTS Software, Project Management, Microsoft Project, Data Conversion and Testing. The QSSI transition team possesses both expert and broad knowledge of the Medicare Programs including, claims processing, federal financial laws (JMFIP compliance), federal accounting laws and practices, debt collection, Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP), and financial reconciliation.
QSSI, a key part of the CMS Transition Team, is involved with the transition from the first transition planning meeting, through the complete contractor transition process. This comprehensive business, functional and technical HIGLAS transition guidance includes: (1) Project Planning (2) Job Mapping (3) Data Preparation, (4) Data Conversion, (5) Testing, (6) Production Simulation, (7) Production Cutover and Reconciliation, and (8) Post-Cutover Assistance. We are also responsible for maintenance and updating of key process documentation, including the Operational Handbook. The QSSI team works closely with CMS and each transitioning contractor to build and execute a customized transition plan, matrixing our experienced personnel to deliver both onsite and offsite support necessary to enure smooth and trouble-free transition for each contractor.
HIGLAS Training Support
QSSI is also providing end users and testers with the training necessary to gain understanding of concepts and interaction with HIGLAS. Our highly experienced team builds specific HIGLAS training plans and materials for each transitioning contractor, ensuring all end users and system testers have the necessary skills to implement and operate the HIGLAS system.
QSSI starts by assisting in the development of a detailed Training Plan for each transitioning contractor, which serves as the master training plan for that organization. We tailor the plan to the unique training needs of their personnel and systems. Using a combination of instructor-led and web-based training, QSSI ensures all facets of internal implementation and end user operation are mastered. In addition, we are responsible for continuously updating our training based on quarterly HIGLAS releases and feedback from end users. QSSI is also responsible for ensuring all training materials are enhanced with appropriate Medicare terminology to ensure the relevancy of the training to the transitioning contractor community. As part of this contract, QSSI responsible for management of the versioning and releases of the training program library.
